Prime Minister visits Abuco in MIddenmeer

On Wednesday, April 15, we had the pleasure of welcoming Prime Minister Rob Jetten to Abuco in Middenmeer, in the presence of representatives from MKB-Nederland and the Koninklijke Metaalunie. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the innovative strength of the SME manufacturing sector in practice and to engage in a constructive dialogue about its future.

Several key themes were discussed during the visit, all of which are crucial to the continued development of both the manufacturing industry and the Dutch economy. The importance of investing in talent and craftsmanship was strongly emphasized, as skilled and motivated professionals form the foundation for innovation, growth, and competitiveness.

In addition, discussions focused on strengthening the manufacturing sector and improving the business climate. A stable and supportive environment is essential to enable companies to continue investing, developing, and competing—both nationally and internationally.

Increasing labour productivity was also a prominent topic. Achieving this requires joint efforts, the smart use of technology, and making forward-looking decisions to ensure the sector remains agile and resilient.

We look back on an inspiring and constructive visit and greatly appreciate the interest and engagement shown in our sector. Our professionals are ready to help build a strong future.

We would like to thank Jacco Vonhof, Marijke Vuijk (MKB-Nederland), and Mark Helder (Koninklijke Metaalunie) for their presence and valuable contributions to this meeting.
